Introducing our Tender & Tangy Recipe: inspired by the lofthouse-style soft cookies in texture (almost melt-in-your-mouth), but this is a cookie base that will keep its shape relatively well during the bake, perfect for decorating. It has a *slight* tang similar to the tiny tang you get in a snickerdoodle, and it's not super sweet. This is *not* as fluffy as our Fluffy Vanilla for Food Network, but I think it's actually *better*. The cookie is super tender, a bit tangy, more cake-like in texture and holds on to moisture quite well, and will retain that texture for a long time if properly heat sealed or stored in an airtight container. Things to keep in mind:
- Recipe is by WEIGHT (grams), NOT volume (i.e. cups). Please have a kitchen scale ready. Weight measurements ensure accuracy and consistency in baking. 1 cup (volume) measurement can be 90 grams or even up to 120 grams based on how settled your flour is-- that's a huge difference!!
